Amani has over 22 years experience in the insurance industry, having worked in insurance and reinsurance both as claims management expert and an underwriter and rose to become a Chief Underwriting Officer at Tanzania Reinsurance Company Ltd.

Amani joined TAPEX Re from self- employment as an independent consultant on insurance, risk and governance, in the meantime, serving as an external examiner in the Faculty of Insurance and Social Protection at the Institute of Finance Management.

Amani holds a Bachelor of Arts (Education) and a Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Dar Es Salaam and Kampala International University respectively. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London (FCII) and the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance ANZIIF (Fellow). He also holds certifications in Risk Governance and Corporate Governance. He has travelled widely and attended seminars and conferences locally and internationally.
