Israel Kamuzora,is the immediate past Commissioner of Insurance & former Chief Executive Officer of the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA). Mr. Kamuzora served in the insurance industry for nearly 40 years before retiring last year. During this period, he worked at the National Insurance Corporation (NIC) as an Underwriter, Insurance Manager and Chief Manager (General Insurance Operations), before joining Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) in 1998 as its founding Technical Director and later its Chief Executive Officer from year 2001 to end of March 2017. Mr. Kamuzora has accumulated vast experience in insurance underwriting, claims management and insurance supervision generally. Kamuzora has also served as Chairman of various insurance bodies in Africa which include: The African Insurance Organization (AIO), The Association of African Insurance Supervisors (AAISA), The Committee of Insurance, Securities & Pensions of SADC (CISNA) and the African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI). Mr. Kamuzora is a holder of a Master’s Degree in International Business, A Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of UK (FCII) and a Fellow of the South African Insurance Institute (FIISA).

Mr. Kamuzora is currently an Insurance Consultant in Tanzania.
